Give the Silence the Full Duration
Why This Matters
- If you play the following doom early, you'll speed up the entire circle and potentially ruin the mood for the dancers.
How You Achieve Success
The drum circle and the dancers expect the full length of long pause in some of the rhythms. Don't rush it.
What You Do
- Use the techniques to Play on Tempo.
- If you are leading the circle and need the tempo to increase, you can't just start the doom early. You have to fill the space of the doom, and accelerate those fills as the queue to the circle (and dancers).
Examples
Chiftitelli and Mas Moodi are both slow and have long pauses; as much as half a measure.
